Bellatrix Black is in her final year of Hogwarts when Tom Riddle returns to the school seeking the Defense Against the Dark Arts post. Bellatrix is an arrogant Pureblood and supremely powerful, traits that the self named Lord Voldemort appreciates. So begins the recruitment of Bellatrix for his future army.
Enter Achilleus Sharpe, a twenty-two year old Vampire Hunter from the Vatican. He's not a priest, he's a Knight of the Order of the Dragon. Sarcastically grim, self-assured, he makes an immediate impression on Hogwarts students. However, despite being an Incantamus, completely immune to magic, he's a Muggle.
Bella holds him in disdain, that is, until he saves her life in the Black Lake. Things get interesting and we find out why Bellatrix becomes the witch we know, and how she can somehow claim redemption after her fall.
Bella is my first and only Fan Fiction novel. I wrote it after a three year hiatus from my novels during which I worked on the movie Lone Pup. The novel is inspired by the consummate cinematic performance of Helena Bonham-Carter in the "Harry Potter" series. I wanted to know more and experience more of Bellatrix. So, being an author with a hyperactive hippocampus, (prefrontal cortex, etc.) I paired her with a singularly audacious Muggle in my cast of characters who was looking for a story--Achilleus Sharpe.
